Her oil paintings are rendered in a loose and painterly manner that convey the vitality and essence of a moment. From Diebenkorn to Vermeer, Jennifer loves and is influenced by a wide range of painters.

Padgett works exclusively in oils. She says, “I like the tactile, buttery substance; I love the smells; I love how the paint responds to you—how you put it on, the depth of pressure, the movement of your arm. If you stand when you paint, it becomes a dance.” Padgett enjoys travel and her paintings reflect her love of France and the café scene. The colors and moods of ordinary vignettes of everyday life inspire her.

She graduated in 1995 from Lipscomb University with a bachelors degree in fine art. Widely collected, her paintings are found in many private and corporate collections such as Ingram Industries and Vanderbilt University.

Special thanks to artist, Pete Sullivan, vocalist, Kirstie Lane, and Fox & Vixen for our March show.

Auld Alliance Gallery
Westgate Center
6019 Hwy 100
Nashville, TN 37205

Art After Hours
Thursday February 4, 2010
5:00 to 8:00 PM
Presentation by artist Ron York
Jewelry Trunk Show by Fox and Vixen and Co.
Music by Kirstie Lane
Light refreshments served

February 4, 2009

As a self-taught artist, Ron works in acrylic on canvas or board in a colorful and whimsical style. His acrylics on canvas and board have become a Nashville tradition, with colorful and whimsical figures and flowers, often jazzed up with a musical or dance theme. He now pursues art full time, and has been expanding his subject matter to include farms, landscapes, birds, animals.

We’ll also be featuring a trunk show of jewelry from Fox and Vixen and Co. These one-of-a-kind pieces are an exciting blend of vintage and modern, offering signature style for the woman who is looking for that extra pizzazz in her jewelry and accessories.

Music will be performed by vocalist/guitarist Kirstie Lane. Kirstie has been a musician since the age of six, playing piano, guitar, and singing. Her song "Hypocrite" was selected as a finalist in Mikal Blue's WebCelebcontest.
http://kirstielane.com

Special thanks to artist and art teacher Lori Putnam, who presented a talk on the value of original art for the January Art After Hours. Even with a forecast of snow, we had a good turnout. Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who braved the icy streets.

Auld Alliance Gallery
Westgate Center
6019 Hwy 100
Nashville, Tn 37205
615-352-5522
